  1. At one time Magnolia was attracting hundreds and hundreds of wealthy summer vacationers and had quite a few activities that you could participate in, depending on age and gender. Polo on the beach was just one of the activities that practically everyone could participate in, playing, and spectating. Today activities have started to pick up even though things were dead for a while after The Oceanside Hotel had burned to the ground, economic depression, and war hit. People became less concerned about how they would spend their leisure time. It wasn't until 2013 when business growth in Magnolia started to rise again with new stores, companies, salons, law offices, and restaurants finding their new homes here.
